May My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, today I have the pleasure to be taking part in the Hero Arts May My Monthly Hero Kit Blog Hop. The kit releases today and it is absolutely beautiful! I just adore these mermaids. They are so beautifully drawn and I love the sentiments and accompanying images too.

For my card, I started off by stamping the mermaid, starfish and fish, from the stamp set using Intense Black Ink. These were coloured with Copic Markers and then I cut them out using the coordinating dies. I added dots of Copic Spica glitter pens to the mermaid's tail and also to the starfish and fish. I took the 'sending mermaid kisses and starfish wishes' sentiment from the stamp set and stamped this using Versamark Ink on to a piece of watercolour paper. I applied White Embossing Powder and then heat set.

 

 

I then went to town creating the background panel. I did go a little mad with the layers but I do like how it turned out! I first made layers of ink with the Nuvo Aqua Flow pens in Fresh Green, Aqua Splash and Azure Blue and water. I then added water to Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Cornflower Blue and Aquamarine and pounced these on to the card base too. They give a lovely shimmer to it. I then added a few splatters with water from a mister bottle.

Once dry, the panel was cut down using one of the dies from the Nesting Rectangles Infinity Dies set. The panel was added to a white A2 card base and then the mermaid, fish and starfish were added with foam tape. It is a little difficult to see the sentiment in the photos but it is easier to read in real-life!
