Hello there, today we are celebrating the release of the February 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts. It is called The Spoken Bird and it is fabulous! It can be used for so many occasions. Since I focussed my countdown cards on the main kit, I thought I would focus my projects today and two of the fabulous add-on products, as well as the sentiments in the main kit stamp set.
If you are following along in the hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Janette, but if you get lost along the way, I have the full list of participants below.
For my first project, I thought I would make a tag, using the wonderful hummingbirds set.
I started off by cutting the tag using the Nesting Tag Infinity Dies (I used the second largest size) from watercolour paper. I blended over Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, focussing most of the colour in the upper right of the tag. I splattered over some water and set aside to dry. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment from the main kit stamp set in black ink on the top left of the tag.
I took the hummingbird from the set and stamped this with Intense Black on to white cardstock. I also stamped three of the flower image too. These were coloured with Copic Markers, added some glitter details to the flowers and Aqua Shimmer to the bird's wings (the colours I used are listed below the supplies section). They were fussy cut out with scissors (there are dies available) and added to the tag with foam tape. To finish off, I added some twine through the top of the tag.

COPIC MARKERS: Hummingbird - V28, V25, V22, B04, B02, B01, B00, BG13, BG11, BG10, C5, C3. Flowers - V17, V15, V12, Spica 01 Lavender, 13 Lilac.
My second project uses the Paper Layering Feather die. In my mind, it was just crying out to be used in a rainbow!
I started off by cutting the die five times from Bristol cardstock. I used Distress Inks to apply colour to the die cuts. I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry for the pink, Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade for the orange, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the green, Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon for the blue and finally, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet for the purple. I splatted on water and set aside to dry.
I added a piece of Decorative Woodgrain Cardstock to a white A2 card base and then added the feathers on top with foam tape. The ' sending you sunshine' sentiment is from the main kit. I stamped it with Versamark Ink on to black cardstock. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was then added to the card with more foam tape.
